After the Superbooth 2025 trip and having the pleasure of spending some time in mylarmelody’s company, I decided to pick up a Moog DFAM semi-modular analogue percussion synth, after already owning an Edge (the Behringer clone / homage / direct copy) to compare the differences and see which sits better in my workflow.

When trying to learn any device I, like most of us, scour the hundreds of videos on Youtube and by chance, it was mylar’s videos that gave the best breadth of knowledge. Less than a week into me owning the DFAM, mylar posted the below video - Three DFAMS and one delay.  Mylar’s control and awesome sounds inspired me to call out as many DFAM and Edge owners in our group and see how many we can sync and feed through a PA.

We’re going to try it at Bloop Groop 07 - in Trinity College Dublin’s Department of music. Using Mylar’s patch sheets as the starting point, we should be able to get something crazy happening. Scroll down to download my blank patch sheets!

To help us navigate around the devices, I made up the below blank patch sheets for DFAM and Edge, including Direct DFAM to Edge comparison sheets.

I made colour ones and black and white ones, to suit your preference. Click to download full-size versions. I hope you find them useful!
